What is "The Next Big Thing" that will change life of most people?
Some past "Big Things":
- Notebooks
- Cell phones
- Internet
- Personal computers
- TV
- Cars
- Planes
- Plastic
- Radio
- Electricity network
- Printed books
I don't consider here industry-level technologies, like sputniks, robots, metallurgical works, atomic stations, etc, but only "end-user" technologies
Some possible "Next Big Things":
- Being always online (it is in progress already)
- Very compact batteries (Fuel cells?)
- Personal medicines and diagnostics
- More efficient ways of teaching...
- Defeat cancer
- Virtual reality as the way to work and communicate
- Nanotechnology will bring something...
- Quantum or molecular computers
- Some kind of artificial intelligence ???
- The compact source of energy
